2024–2028 CAPP Strategic Plan Overview

Goal 1.1: Increase and diversify CAPP membership to strengthen our network and enhance our impact.

 

Goal 1.2: Increase CAPP membership by enhancing the accessibility and impact of member benefits, providing in-person networking opportunities and restructuring the membership year for greater convenience.

  • Objective 1: Restructure Membership Year for Greater Convenience

  • Objective 2: Enhance Accessibility and Visibility of Member Benefits

  • Objective 3: Increase Impactful and Relevant Member Benefits

  • Objective 4: Expand in-person networking opportunities and reduce monthly trainings/meetings; Maintain the CAPP Annual meeting/awards ceremony

 

Goal 2: Strengthen workforce development within the prevention field by providing targeted support, resources, and mentorship to both new and existing professionals, and actively engaging college students in the prevention profession.

  • Objective 1: Promoting and supporting in Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) Certification

  • Objective 2: Provide Resources and Support for current and new prevention professionals

  • Objective 3: Utilize LinkedIn for Workforce Development

  • Objective 4: Engage College Students and Promote CAPP Membership

 

Goal 3: Enhance communication strategies to improve engagement with CAPP members and effectively promote CAPP's initiatives to the broader prevention and public health community.

  • Objective 1: Improve internal communication with CAPP members and promote utilization of the membership portal

  • Objective 2: Communicate Advocacy and Legislative Updates to CAPP members

 

Goal 4: Strengthen and expand collaborations with key stakeholders and organizations to enhance prevention efforts and maximize the impact of CAPP (i.e. increase membership and support to prevention professionals).

  • Objective 1: Increase and improve collaborations with state, regional and local agencies and associations

 

Goal 5: CAPP will enhance its prevention services and increase organizational profitability by 10% annually through targeted presentations and fee-for-service initiatives, achieving a minimum income of $21,961.50 from Hidden in Plain Sight presentations and membership fees.

  • Objective 1: Increase CAPP profitability through fee for service initiatives and membership fees

  • Objective 2: Maintain and expand Hidden In Plain Sight presentations

  • Objective 3: Increase availability for technical assistance and development of custom topic-focused presentations

  • Objective 4: Enhance marketing and outreach for CAPP prevention services
