Prevention Infrastructure in CT

CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS): State health care agency that promotes and administers mental health treatment and substance abuse prevention and treatment services throughout CT.

Connecticut Prevention Network (CPN): statewide coalition of the five Regional Behavioral Health Action Organizations (RBHAOs) focusing on prevention and wellness efforts.

Regional Behavioral Health Action Organizations (RBHAOs): created by DMHAS in 2018 to oversee a range of planning, education, and advocacy of behavioral health needs and services for children and adults within one of DMHAS’s 5 regions:

Region 1: Catalyst CT The Hub

Region 2: Alliance for Prevention Wellness - BH Care (APW)

Region 3: SERAC

Region 4: Amplify, Inc.

Region 5: Western CT Coalition (WCTV)

Local Prevention Councils (LPCs): Local, state-funded, municipal-based prevention councils dedicated to substance misuse prevention.

We strive to make Connecticut a state that prioritizes prevention and health promotion.
