About CAPP
The Connecticut Association of Prevention Professionals is a statewide network of prevention advocates that identifies and spreads awareness of behavioral health trends while ensuring growth of the field and providing resources across the state.
We envision CT as a state that:
-
makes prevention a priority
-
celebrates positive, healthy choices
-
responds proactively to behavioral health issues
CAPP membership is comprised of community coalitions, behavioral health organizations, representatives of state agencies, law enforcement officers, academics, and other valuable stakeholders.
CAPP History
CAPP was founded in the 1980s and officially incorporated in November 1991. Professionals came together then with similar goals: to support and advocate for the field of prevention, behavioral health and wellness. CAPP became the CT affiliate of SAM (Smart Approaches to Marijuana) in 2014 in response to changing marijuana laws and their negative impacts on our youth.
